Hey Friends - Welcome to FILO!

My name’s Alex and I serve on the FILO Core team as a cohort leader. I’ve also worked as a full time church Production Director before starting my own business as a Producer & Production Coach.

These days, I spend my time helping creative and production professionals pursue the things which truly matter to them. I call this pursuing your most meaningful work.

I’m super excited to help sponsor some of the special events taking place here at FILO24 and hope you’ll have an awesome time – whether you’re in person or attending virtually.

Make the Most of FILO

I’ve been to FILO for many years now. Here are some quick tips to make the most of it!

Engage → Be Present

Even though you may be in a different state or time zone, Sunday’s still coming. It’s easy to feel the pull of work especially when you’re still responsible to make sure weekend services go off without a hitch.

If you’re really feeling pulled back into work, set some time to knock out a few emails and keep things moving, but then turn work off so you can be present to what God has for you here at FILO.

Take Notes

You’re going to be hit with a lot of information and inspiration while you’re here. Taking notes is a great way to process what you’re learning in real time, but also allows you to debrief and review when you get back home. Think of it like taking part of the conference back with you.

Connect with Others

There’s some amazing content and gear here, but what will stand the test of time are the relationships you build within the FILO community. As you explore, try out new tech, and go to different sessions, remember to connect with your fellow tech artists. Talk, meet new people, and get to know others in the community. Feel free to ask questions, share your thoughts, and learn from others' experiences.

If you need a break, take a break

I used to feel like I had to make the most of every moment while I was at FILO cause my church was paying for me to be there. Over the years though, I realized the joy of giving myself permission to to skip a breakout session to be alone and journal or catch up with a friend.

FILO is a great place to take in new information and inspiration, but there’s something to be said for pacing yourself and finding moments of silence and solitude in the midst of it all.

What is God inviting you into while you’re here?

Come Say Hey!

If you’re here in person, I’ll be hanging out at the FILO Cohorts Booth over near the Willow Coffee shop. Please come say hey! We have candy (and not in a creepy way).

If you’re joining virtually and still want to connect, DM me on Instagram or drop me a line below and we’ll find some time to catch up!
