I’ve always been fascinated by architecture. While I don’t have any background in architecture, I’ve always been drawn to, curious about, and inspired by good design.
As I continue to study and explore building my own creative space, I find myself turning a lot to architecture, especially architecture books. It all started in the fall of 2024.
The shed itself had already been delivered, and my wife and I were headed to a Getaway House for a kid-free retreat in Central Virginia.
On our way, we stopped in downtown Charlottesville for dinner and then walked to a nearby bookstore. I had been thinking to myself, ‘If only there was an architectural style book that was about home offices.’ Then, right as I walked into the front of the store, there I found, on a featured display, a lone copy of The Home Office Reimagined.
I snagged this divinely-appointed copy and dreamt of reading it on the remaining drive to our getaway. For the rest of that weekend, I began a new path of studying architecture design and rethinking how I would design my own creative space.
